Information about the course:

The teaching includes not only language instruction but also provides insight into culture and societal conditions. The program is organized according to the curriculum for Faroese as a second language (Føroyskt sum annaðmálnamsaetlanir.fo – translation here) and concludes with an examination.

At Glasir, courses are divided into three paths, and you will be allocated to one of them based on your previous educational background. Each level corresponds to the following CEFR level:

FSA 1.1 (CEFR A1) FSA 2.1 (CEFR A1)FSA3.1 (CEFR A1 and A2)
FSA 1.2 (CEFR A1+)FSA 2.2 (CEFR A2)FSA 3.2 (CEFR A2+)
FSA 1.3 (CEFR A2)FSA 2.3 (CEFR A2+)FSA 3.3 (CEFR B1)
FSA 1.4 (CEFR A2+)FSA 2.4 (CEFR B1)FSA 3.4 (CEFR B2)

The program is divided into four levels, and after each level, there is a proficiency test. In the final level, there will be a final test. The aim of the program is to contribute to making immigrants feel integrated as part of society and recognized in the labor market and in social life more broadly. In this way, the student becomes better equipped to utilize the education and skills they bring from their home country or to pursue education in the Faroe Islands if they wish to do so.

Proficiency tests and examinations are expected to take place in December and May/June
